HOW CAN YOU HELP?

Do you love dancing? Tutoring kids? Want to explore a career in education? We have many volunteer and paid positions available at each of our schools. Read below to find more ways to get involved with Kids on Course and the Zach Johnson Foundation.

VOLUNTEER

PAGE PAL

Help a kindergarten student at one of our elementary schools learn their alphabet or master sight words. Commitment is once a week for an hour. Times vary based on school.

ZJF CLASSIC

Volunteer for our premiere fundraising event, the Pro-Am charity golf tournament, held every summer at Elmcrest Country Club.

INTERNSHIPS

Assist in facilitating youth academic and enrichment programming. Interns are encouraged to use their unique skills to develop program, assist with planning, organizing, and implementing the Kids on Course program. Positions available at elementary and middle school.

PAID POSITIONS

ELEMENTARY TUTOR

Work with a small group of students on either math, reading or independent projects. Tutoring is Monday-Thursday from 4:00 – 5:00 PM. Tutors can choose to work M/W or T/TH. Sessions are usually 6-8 weeks long.

Payment: $25/session for non-certified teachers and $33/session for certified teachers.

MIDDLE SCHOOL TUTOR

Work with a small group of students on either math, reading or independent projects. Tutoring is twice a week from 3:30-4:30. Sessions are usually 6-8 weeks long.

Payment is $25/session for non-certified teachers and $33/session for certified teachers.

KIDS ON COURSE UNIVERSITY TEACHER

Kids on Course University (KCU) is a 7-week summer camp that combines learning and fun to grow reading and math skills. KCU 2017 is from June 19-August 4. We are in need of energetic and passionate certified teachers.

SCHOLAR CAMP TEACHER

Scholar Camp is a summer camp for rising 6th-8th graders in Kids on Course. The program runs from June 20-July 19th, Tuesdays-Thursdays. Please apply if you are a certified teacher and interested in project-based learning and helping kids engage in learning over the summer.

ENRICHMENT LEADER

Kids on Course is always looking for individuals to teach our enrichment programming. Content can range from arts to sports, to theater or music. Enrichment leaders can teach 1-4 times a week from 4-5PM. Sessions are usually 6 weeks and are held 2-3 times a year.

AMERICORPS MEMBER

The Youth Achievement AmeriCorps program is a team of hardworking and dedicated AmeriCorps members who serve in schools, enrichment programs and early literacy programs to help close the achievement gap. Members serve 1700 hours (approximately 35-40 hours a week) over the course of a year and are given an education award and modest living stipend upon completion.
